EtG and introduction. Just a newbie trying to educate myself for my friends issue on EtG testing time frames helpful ways to metabolize etg/ets out of urine faster etc. My friend is a pain clinic patient due to severe pain from becoming disabled and not able to work anymore. My friend receives disability now. This clinic does random drug tests to make sure you are taking your meds not selling them being non compliant taking to many at a time or doing other illegal medication. No where on my friends original controlled substance contract was alchool not to be used casually. Well the new contract which my friend did not see, not aware of, not signed as of yet. My friend was not even given this new contract yet. My friend was shown the new contract but they never asked that it be signed REALLY NOT SURE WHY. Now this new one says NO alchool is allowed. My friend honestly had no clue they were not allowed a few nights of social beers so the friend failed 2 etg/ets tests due to drinking the night before both tests because they thought it was no big deal.  My friend is pretty laid back take my meds properly and doesn't use illegal drugs. So this all said now they are having every 2 week visits and not thrilled as they are telling them they cant do something which is not illegal in their private life. Their life is already pretty anti social because of disabilty. They only drink beer and never get sloshed ever. The most beers in a night has been 5 cans little normal sized in a night. So EtG info is appreciated and now I am off to read other posts for my friend. Thanks

I have moved your post from Introductions (it is limited to introducing one's self and welcoming new members) to Additions. This board is where we answer questions about ETG testing. Since your post was more about ETG testing this seemed like a better place.

You do not mention which pain medications your friend is currently taking. Has the clinic talked to your friend about the dangers of mixing alcohol and many (if not all) of the controlled pain medications? If they haven't then he might want to ask.

I am going to be honest with you. If your friend is looking for a way to drink beers or any other alcoholic beverages and cheat the testing, then you are probably not going to find the information you want.

Time is the only proven method of getting etg/ets out of the body. For the testing, he also needs to be careful about any products or foods that contain alcohol.

Your friend needs to find other ways to be social than drinking. If he is good friend, you will support and encourage him to not drink. Maybe encourage him to find new ways of being social if the old ones are no longer working.

The bottom line here is if you are subject to ETG testing then don't drink. It is as simple as that.

It is often assumed that the contract is signed or just accepted if treatment continues. Chances are the contracts were amend to prevent liability for potential drug interactions between the alcohol and what ever is being taken. It isn't directed at your friend specifically, but has become a condition of treatment in this clinic. As well, being on disability, the government probably wants to ensure that the money isn't being spent on hookers and blow. That it is actually being spent on living expenses. That it is being spent wisely instead of friviously. It is a hot point in politics right now. You give people money from the government and instead of buy food or host essentials, they're buying xboxes or what not.

I understand how frustrated your friend must be, but that's life and is lot in it is kind of crappy. The problem is, even though alcohol consumption in the manner you're suggesting isn't illegal, but it is breaking a legal agreement between him and the pain management clinic. Which is bad. So your friend can either abide by the contract (and he should probably sign it) and continue his pain management, or stop so he can drink. Either live a bearable life or be sloshed and in a huge amount of pain.

Two things to conclude with, first being that we're not going to tell you how you cheat on a EtG test. No only does that open up serious liability issues, but it is morally wrong. I don't want him to take his meds, a fifth of vodka and drown in his own vomit because you can him the impression, from us, that he could continue to do this. That isn't going to be on us. Second I believe you and this friend is the same person, but that is just because when someone, such as yourself, comes on here to ask a question for their friend they're just trying to ask with out incriminating themselves. It is kind of odd that you know the minutia of this contract and his life like this. Just saying.

There are many things implied that aren't required to be spelled out in excruciating detail. ALL use of alcohol when someone is legally or otherwise required to abstain is one of them (if you are being tested then you fit one of those categories). Common sense would tell most people this. People with substance abuse issues frequently deny they have them, and look for what they believe are creative ways to get around certain wording. Fact is.. abstain is abstain... and a test doesn't care if you drank it... bathed in it... or gave yourself an enema with it. A fail is a fail.

Personally I think this is about you... not a "friend". Otherwise your friend has even bigger problems if someone else is more concerned than they are.
