    1974 chevy truck won't start, it turns over.
    I got spark from coil and I smell gas from carburetor

    When you checked for spark where did you check it at? The coil wire or a plug wire ? Was it a strong blue color and made a snapping sound?

    When did you last do a tuneup ?

    How long has it been since you installed new points, condenser, rotor, distributor cap, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and checked the timing? If the problem persists, check each cylinder's compression. Have you tried starter fluid?
