My wife had last period on 5th May. After that till 23 we did not have any contact. She missed period in June and on 9th June pregnancy test was negative. Then we did test on 15th and it came positive. We had first scan on 22nd June and no heartbeat found. After we had it again today 2nd July and still no cardiac activity found. As per the scan it has completed 6 weeks and 3 days. We have been advised next scan after 1 week. We are confused whether there is any issue with baby or there is incorrect calculation of weeks. Could you please advise?

Why are you testing? By your dates, it seems like you are testing way to early.

In the early weeks of pregnancy, a few days can make a difference in regard to what can be seen on an ultrasound, especially with cardiac activity between 6 and 7 weeks.

It is very common to not pick it up only to find all is well on another scan a week or two later. Ultrasound will give you more accurate dates for the pregnancy than going by the last period.

See what results you have in a week. Hopefully things will have progressed as they should and all will be well.

Relax, they will test again probably every week until her pregnancy is confirmed. These are still the very early stages of confirmation. This is not an exact science, with instant results at this stage of the process. Be patient.
