    How do you drop a protection order that is in place for 5 years?
    So how do you drop a protection order that is in place for 5 years. I was going to ask for it to be dropped when we went to court and the lawyer talked me into doing it for 5 years. After court I felt horrible how do I change this

    Why do you feel horrible, and who is this for?

    If you have not had any contact with them for 5 years, why would you want to now?

    But you hire your attorney, go back to court and ask for it, to be dismissed. Or the other party could do that, and you support the motion.
