    MA State Tax killing me
I am a married resident of Massachusetts who is an expatriate working and living in SW Asia more than 330 days a year. I pay no federal tax because I made under the $84k. My question is what do I need to do which would legally exempt me from state income tax because they killed me this year?

It has long been established by tax court that the last state in which you live remains your domicile state until you establish domicile somewhere else. So, unless you go back and move your family to a non-tax state (Washington, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Alaska, Nevada and one other state whose name eludes me at this point in time), as long as your family is in Massachusetts, you are STUCK, my friend.
