How to file Foreign Rental Income for Green Card Holder
    Hello,
I am a green card holder, me and my wife entered the US in Oct. 14, 2013 for our first time then and after 3 months we leave the US. Again we entered the us on July 7, 2014 and have a 40 days stay. I am going to file a tax return for 2014. We didn't work either inside or outside of US and we didn't have any income inside the States, but we had an annual rental foreign income outside of US which is equal to $15000.
    The question is:
    1) Which form/forms do I have to use for a tax return?
    2) Do I have to provide a foreign Address?

    Thank you.

How to file Foreign Rental Income for Green Card Holder
    Hello,
(I have posted this question later but there was a mistake on it about our second stay, which I have corrected it.)
I am a green card holder, me and my wife entered the US in Oct. 14, 2013 for our first time then after 3 months we left the US. Again we entered the us on July 7, 2014 and left on Sept 17, 2014. We are here in the US now and I am going to file a tax return for 2014. We didn't work either inside or outside of US and we didn't have any income inside the States, but we had an annual rental foreign income outside of US which is equal to $15000.
    The question is:
    1) Which form/forms do I have to use for a tax return?
    2) Do I have to provide a foreign Address?

    Thank you.

It does not matter WHERE you live or where the income is from. As a green card holder, you must declare ALL world-wide income on your U.S. tax return. You can claim a combination of the Foreign Tax Credit (Form 1116) and the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (Form 2555) to avoid paying U.S. taxes on that ncome, but ALL of the income must be declared.

Regard to my statues as a Green Card Holder in which category do I have to show my foreign rental income?
    1) In form 1040 line 17 and attaching schedule E?
    Or:
    2) In line 21 other income?
