I had my first period after the DEPO on the 16. I had sex on the 14 and 21. Today the smell on oatmeal and also garlic made me feel sick. My tummy has also been feeling weird. Am I ovulating or what?

Did you just get the first injection or is this after you've stopped having injections? Either way, your cycle can be off from the Depo.

I had only one shot and it was in August 2014. Me and my boyfriend are Trying to conceive. I've only had one period so far and that was this month, so I don't know if I'm ovulating or what. It's really confusing me.

If you had a period, you likely ovulated prior to it. Depo can really cause havoc with cycles, so it can be many months before you have regular ovulation and periods however. It will be a matter of waiting and seeing if they now become regular from this point on, or not yet. You can try a few things to determine when you are most likely to be ovulating, but until you have some regular cycles going again, they may prove to be more frustrating than helpful. Temping and charting (tracking basal body temperature), watching for changes in cervical mucus, and using ovulation tests are usually the most common ways of getting an idea of when ovulation is likely to occur. They can all take a few months to notice a pattern... hence why irregular cycles can prove difficult.

Since you are trying to conceive, and you may or may not have regular periods to go by as a possible sign of pregnancy, it might be best to just try a pregnancy test at the same time each month.

Okay. So the 16 through the 20 of march was my first true period after getting off the depo. I had unprotected sex on the 14, the 21, the 28, and the 29. Me and my amazing boyfriend are trying to conceive. On the 29, I woke up with cramps and then I started spotting that evening. The 30 it got kind of heavy but not as heavy as my normal periods. The 31 was still heavy but not as bad as the 30. Today, the 1, I am just simply spotting a little bit. It seems as if its stopping. Since I've only had one period, I do not know when I suppose to ovulate or when I should start my period again. But the past few days, I have been extremely moody and irritable. Its like I'm a whole different person. Today also came with surprises. All day today, smells are so intense. Perfume, food cooking, etc. Also, after drinking orange juice this morning, I suddenly threw it up. I felt fine before I threw up, and after I threw up also. Then around lunch time, I suddenly got a urge again as if I was about to throw up. I feel like all I do is sleep. Please! Any advice will help! I know plenty about babies but nothing about being pregnant! I don't know if I am pregnant or if something else is wrong

It can take a while for periods to regulate after getting off Depo. You've had one period since discontinuing Depo, and it may take a while to get regular again.

The fact is, once you conceive you do not get a period. Some women do bleed and mistake it for a period, and that very well could be happening. Unfortunately the only true first symptom of pregnancy that is reliable, is a missed period.

I would wait until the bleeding is over, then try a pregnancy test. If that test is negative, wait and see what happens with your next one. If you miss it, test again or get a blood test done.

Since you are trying to conceive you can and should start taking prenatal vitamins now. They won't harm you and they can make all the difference for a healthy baby.

Thank you! Someone in my boyfriends family bled a couple of times while they were pregnant. And since this is nothing like a period, not even like what I had a few weeks ago, I don't know what to think. I don't know why I'm spotting (which I never do) or if I'm having pregnancy symptoms. My boyfriend is excited because he thinks I might be pregnant, but I don't want to get my hopes up unless someone that knows more about this than I do, says it's a good chance I am truly pregnant.

Sadly when it comes to pregnancy, saying there's a good chance is just mean. There's no way to give an accurate guess, and we don't want to get your hopes up by guessing.

I know it sucks having to wait to take a pregnancy test. Believe me I know. I tried for 7 months with my son, and 10 months with my daughter. Every month I would hope that I'd miss my period. Every month if it was even a day late I started picking out baby clothes and planning. Then I'd get my period and I'd fall into a deep depression.

I learned to wait and be patient, and when it was time to happen, it will happen.

Wait a week, then test. If it's positive then you have your answer. If it's negative then try again next month. It can take the average couple a year to conceive once they actively start trying. Don't get discouraged, and yes, you could be pregnant, you did everything you needed to do to make it happen. Now it's just a waiting game. :)

You're very welcome. Let me know how the pregnancy test goes, and if it's negative, don't let it get you down, just keep trying. I remember all too well how hard it was to wait, and then it happened. Now my kids are 16 and 12. The time just flies by. :)
