AVG Resident Shield message dialog box
I keep getting this dialog box popping up when my computer is ideal for awhile.

AVG Resident Shield - Message Dialog Box

    Message-
    Virus
    Trojan horse Downloader.keenvel.n
    Is found in file
    c:/system volume
    Information \_restore{cd53596a-5812-49db-af84-a72b9becde4f}\rp151\a0008830.dll

To remove this virus, please run AVG for Windows.

Now I have run AVG over and over and I still get this message. Everything else on my system seems to be running fine. I am using windows xp home.
One thing I noticed was that I didn't seem to have this problem before I downloaded and install AVG. I have used this anti-virus program before and never had a problem.
Is there anyone out there that maybe able to shed some light on to why I am getting this message and why AVG doesn't take care of the problem?
    Thank you in advance. Ed

    AVG Shield
It simply means that AVG caught something that your other anti-virus software did not. This is not uncommon. Basically, you can do either of 2 things... you can either boot into safe mode and then rerun the AVG scan to try to remove it, or go to www.trendmicro.com and use their free online virus scanner and remover.

I've used it before and it allowed me to delete virus files that AVG would not; although AVG is still my AV software of choice. Also, remember that in Windows XP, you MUST disable "system restore" before attempting ANY virus removal. You must also ensure that the virus files are not scheduled to reinstall once you reboot the system. You must enter the system configuration utility to clear all unnecessary or suspected virus or spyware loads from the startup folder.

If you need any assistance with this process, feel free to contact me.

    I hope this helps.
