    1997dodge was overheated not seized
    Is this a serious problem? I want to buy this truck.

    Possibly, could have a cracked head or block. Fill it with water, crank it up. What engine?

    Go slow--it may have a warped aluminum head, damaged valves, and blown head gasket. Have a qualified mechanic check it out.
