My ankle is killing me, is it fractured?
My ankle was hit by a hammer super hard repetitive times on accident. Now there is now swelling minor bruising, but is painful to walk on. Pain goes away as I rest. Is this a hairline fracture?

There isn't a way to tell online if your have experienced a fracture. If you are having continuing pain and swelling, you need to see a doctor. I'd also be interested to know how you were hit repeatedly with a hammer by accident.

Hit more than once with a hammer? Hmmm... well an exam and an X-ray will give you the answer you want. Be prepared to tell the medical practitioner how this happened.

How...HOW do you get hit more than once in the same spot with a hammer...BY ACCIDENT?

We can't tell you if it's fractured or not. You need a doctor to examine you and have x-rays done to know this.

I'm with everyone else. How the heck do you get hit with a hammer repeatedly by accident? Once maybe, but multiple times? Who was swinging the hammer, and if it was you, how stupid are you to hit yourself more than once? Seriously would like an explanation how this is considered an accident.

As for if you have a fracture, well my online x-ray machine is broken, so you'll have to go to an actual doctor and get an x-ray, or we could guess, that will be really helpful because we always guess right (sarcasm).

On that note, thanks for making me bang my head against the wall because of this post. Just when I thought people were getting a bit smarter, you came along.

Hope my fellow long term posters read this before it's deleted, because ya, I totally know that I crossed the line, but come on! It had to be said.

You will need to go to a emergency care facility, your doctor or other location that can do an exam of your ankle, If hit hard, with hammer, several times, yes it is very possible
