    Social worker
Is anyone a social worker because I want to know what it is like? And what did you have to do to be in your position today?

    Thank you!

Part of my job as a counselor is social work. I have a master's degree. Mine is MCP. Social work would be an MSW. Social work can include dealing with a lot of paperwork, government forms, pensions, etc., especially if you work with an elderly population. Of course, you could work with children or teens or couples in all sorts of ways -- as a counselor or a go-to person to help sort out physical and emotional problems, as a patient advocate, in a hospital or assisted-living facility or rehab facility or nursing home or a school/university or in a corporate situation.

You will be dealing with lots of different personality types by phone and in person. Being calm and organized are major pluses.

You don't have to work in a place where there are horrible things happening. Working at a school would be fun and interesting, yet challenging. Maybe part of your job would be teaching study skills to small groups of students or helping parents be better ones.

I know I don't, but have always been interesred in that area of work, and thanks for you adivce. I want to help and make a difference and give children a voice and let them be heard and not just look at the environment and say things are fine! When a lot more happens behind close doors, I don't want people to feel alone. Want them to be safe. Thank you though and being a counslor is also amazing too.
