Okay from what I have heard, you cannot date in Islam. I myself am a young muslim girl who wants to find her partner in life someday. My parents tell me you cannot date or get comfortable with a guy unless your married, which to me does not make sense. How can I marry a guy I barely know that I spoke to with supervision. Say I marry the man and I end up regretting it. So I really want to know whether my parents are just over the top or is it all the truth.

And say it is forbidden is it one of the greatest sins? I want the truth and only the truth.

How old are you and what country do you reside in? As long as you live with them and they support you then you must respect their wishes and rules. Doesn't matter what your opinion is or if its right or fair.

So your age is an important question to answer, and also consider the consequences of disobedience.

Yes dating is haraam. This is because it leads to pre marital sex, AIDS, HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, children born out of wedlock, deadbeat dads, single parent homes, children not knowing who their father is, children being aborted by their mothers it is a sin, children becoming criminals because they are raised in single mother homes.

Sadly you're not allowed to meet men and date them, not where your religion is concerned. You are a woman, you don't have the right to choose who your mate will be, you have no rights at all. When the time is right your parents will choose a mate for you, you will have no say in it. That's how being Muslim works.
