    Bleach in septic tank
We use a septic tank. I have just realised that I accidentally have been using bleach to clean the toilets in the house for the past 2 months, twice a week. I have stopped using the bleach immediately on realising but how will it affect the septic tank and what can I do now to rectify the damage done?

The amount of bleach is relatively insignificant. Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach) is 5%. Therefore, 95% of what you pour down the toilet from a bleach bottle is water. Combine that with the toilet flush and it becomes a very small amount. Bleach, reacts with organic and inorganic materials and releases oxygen. So by the time it gets into the septic and is further diluted by the 1,000+ gallons of water and sludge in the tank, it is virtually gone. No worry.
