Can a probation officer violate for being around his brother?
My brother is on probation. His probation officer came over to my house one day to inspect where he sometimes hangs out. My brother cares for our sick father while I work. One day she asked me to write a statement about him that would have him violated. I refused. Now she tells him that he is not allowed around me. That if he is caught at my house or hanging out with me she will lock him up. I do not have a criminal record and I'm a good person. I care for my brother and now I'm not allowed to even talk to him in fear of her finding out and putting him back in jail, which she asks him every week if he was around me, and that if he was caught she would have him arrested. All this because I told her off! I'm not on probation. I don't understand how she has the authority to tell him that and actually harass him about it every week. I haven't seen my brother for many months. We used to be close. Now we don't even talk. Because she don't like me. I don't understand and I'm very upset. We are all upset and he is still being questioned about it although he stopped visiting. Very sad :-(

    Yes and no,

He has the right to harrass your brother, that is what they do.
He has the right to revoke your brother if he violates any of the rules of probation, if you are on probation or some reason not acceptable, he can order him, not to be near you.

No, he can not stop him from being with you, if there is no reason.

He needs to ask for this rule in writing, and the reasons,
