    Cable size
    I want to feed my shop from my house elec panel it is a 200 amp the shop is approximately 200 ft away what size wire do I need ?

    Kevin,

    It's not a simple as that. You need to tell us what size load (amperage) you will need at the remote panelboard.

    Then a calculation has to be made to make sure that your 200 amp main panelboard can support the current needs of your home and the additional load imposed on it by the secondary panelboard.
