    I have a ariens snowblower
    Augar won't turn and cable to belt has slack in it.belt is not broken,but has slack in it too

    I have an ariens snowblower.I'm trying to figure out if belt is worn out.there is play in cable that runs to belt area.belt is not broken,bit is loose.model number is ss522e .

I have an Ariens 5524 snow thrower. It has started to push snow in front of it. It only throwes snow 6 to 8 feet. This happens at all speeds. The snow was only 3 inches deep and not heavy at all. Any ideas why it is pushing the snow?
