Hi I got my period August 8 and it didn't come this month and today September 22 Ihad a brown spot on my underwear and I put on a pad and I have light brown liquid coming on the pad and like to days ago I had cramps when I woke up but they went away within minutes what can this mean ever month on the 8 my period comes except this month and I have side cramps sometimes that go away within minutes to

There can be a number of reasons a period is off schedule. Is pregnancy a possibility? It may be that your period is just starting late this month. Sometimes a period may start and/or end with some brown discharge. Are you using any form of hormonal birth control? That too may sometimes cause a change in cycles.

No I'm not on birth control and its so light its almost water and I catch on and off cramps on my right side and I took the first response 5 days soner test on September 3 but it came back negative

The early tests work for some women who have early ovulation and implantation, but the majority of women will not get a positive result that early even if they are indeed pregnant. With an average time frame of ovulation, a pregnancy will be picked up about two weeks after ovulation; several days or so after a missed period. Some women will ovulate later than average, and implantation may then occur about the time of an expected period. In that situation they may not get an accurate result for a couple of weeks or so after the expected period.

It is all is dependent on when ovulation and implantation occur, the sensitivity of the test used, and correct use of the test.

Since you tested shortly before your period was due, and you are well passed that due date, I would either try another test yourself, or see your doctor for a test there.

Again, it could be due to an off cycle... a late ovulation or a late period. You may even skip this month and just have the discharge. It could be due to an infection.

Test again, and if negative, see your doctor for an exam if the discharge continues to check for possible infection.
