92 honda accord starting problems
Hello, my distributor was leaking oil so I replaced it along with the cap and rotor, my timing gun is broken so I had to adjust it by ear. Everything was running fine, took it around the block a few times and all was good. A few days later (after driving it around with no problems ) it won't start! I can hear the fuel pump, battery is fully charged, and engine light turns off 2 seconds after I turn the key. It'll turn over for 1 or 2 seconds and that's it... pleases help I'm stumped

Try advancing the timing by rotating the distributor housing slightly counter-clockwise (CCW). If the problem persists, install a genuine Honda distributor housing, along with an aftermarket Ignition Control Module (ICM) to keep the cost down. Apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new ICM. I would also install a new coil. This should solve your problem. The old distributor may have been fine--it may have only needed a new O-ring.

I tried turning the distributor from all the way right to all the way left without success, ICM? I'm not familiar with it but I'll check that, didn't even think about the coil, I'll have to locate both of those and check them out. Thanks

Just remember aftermarket distributor housings for Hondas are junk--they can't get the internal sensors right. They are nothing but trouble. This is one of those parts where you should go OEM.

My advice is to just buy the distributor housing from Honda (check prices at collegehillshonda.com) and install an aftermarket ICM, rotor, and cap. This will keep the cost down and give you the reliability you need.
