Could I have some kind of vitamin deficiency, or osteoarthritis?

It could be both or neither but a simple check up with a blood test would certainly answer your question.

What feels like sudden loss of muscle can be your heart having difficulty pumping blood to what may be perfectly good muscles. SEE A DOCTOR!

Muscle weakness is associated with osteoarthritis, which is genetic; bone loss in the joints effecting muscle structure and performance. There isn't very much of a cure, but see your doctor so he can explain your options for long term care where you will be more comfortable.

No, it isn't a vitamin defficiency and if you know what your condition is called, then your doctor has already diagnosed you. Have you had bone density tests? That is a good place to start.
