    Replacing washing machine filter
A plumber told me that my washing machine filter needed to be replaced - originally he said the washer was worn out and then concluded the whole filter needed to be replaced and quoted £140. I only paid £120 for my reconditioned machine, so turned him down. There seems to be nothing wrong with the filter or plug as I have removed both and cleaned them, however the machine is now leaking a lot (it wasn't previously!) As there is no sign of a washer, should I just buy that or do I really need to pay for the whole lot again? As I said, I removed the filter and plug and they are both fully intact - I can see no fault with them.
