Maple Chase to Robert Shaw Thermostat
I have a 1996 Maple Chase Thermostat and would like to put in the new Robert Shaw Thermostat. The problem is the new RS Thermostat does not use the Brown, Black & Red wires that were connected to the Maple Chase.
The maple Case is wired up as follows:
    Brown - C
    Black - L
    Red - R
    Skip - y2
    Yellow - y1
    Skip - e
    Green -G
    White - W2
    Orange - O
    Blue - B
I don't have the C,L & R on the new Robert Shaw Thermostat. How do wire this up. Thanks George

I've never seen a stat without an 'R' terminal.

The new unit is a Robert Shaw 9620 and I'm running a Rheem Heat pump The old unit is a Maple Chase 9620. I'm returning the thermostat the unit is missing the screw lugs where the R, L, & C wires connect. Other than that it should have been a exact wire hook up as I stated in the first post. I bought the unit from ZORO. Thanks George

Maple Chase / Robert Shaw 9620 [ 3 Answers ]

Let me start by saying this could either be a thermostat or a heater problem. We have a Maple Chase that's the equivalent of a Robert Shaw 9620. After reading different posts here, I found the correct owners manual online. Our problem is that the heater runs and runs but it's blowing very cold...
