My child is a special child (deletion in 15th chromozome). He studies in a special schiil in Uk.
His school has advised him to take a vaccine for flu. it is Fluenz Tetra which has gelatine derived from pork. It is a nasal spray. They say many muslim scholars have approved to give this as it has been transformed to gelatine form. please suggest.
They have asked us to see this site for reference

I had a response for this put together before the thread got moved. If all else fails, talk to your Imam, he's the best source of information and guidance. The thought I got from reading about about this is that when a substance gets transformed, swine to gelatin for example, the properties of it get transformed as well. In this case it has transformed from pork to medicine. Medicine is good, so no worries. As I said earlier, if you're still uncertain than talk to your imam.
