    No lights come on except the "locked key". Dishwasher won't start either.
    The locked button light is on whether the dishwasher is open or closed. I closed it and cleared the machine. I selected the settings she wanted and hit the start button. It doesn't start up. Any thoughts on how to go forward?

    Without knowing what kind you have and the model number there is no way to tell you anything about it.
