NY resident or non-resident, international student
I came to New York city as an international student on August 17, 2001 on F-1 visa. I am still on the same status. Am I a resident or a non-resident for NY tax purposes? Do I fill IT 201 or IT 203?

You are a resident alien for federal tax purposes; file Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ.

Due to your student status, you are a non-resident for NY tax purposes.
