    C Section concerns
I am due to have a c-section next week . I haven't been able to sleep in weeks so my mother gave me a couple of tremidol, I took them and slept great , however I found out that they will do a stool sample drug test on my baby at birth . My question is will this drug show up in his system ? And if it does will cps take him from me ? I'm not a bad person just apparently made a really bad decision.

Probably have no effect on that drug test. You will probably be fine. As well you learnt your lessen, don't take prescription drugs that were prescribed to you.

I'm glad that you are concerned about the effect DRUGS have on the BABY.

I assume you mean Tramadol. Pretty strong opiate. You are lucky you are so far along or you may have had issues. It is for pain, not sleeping. As Craven stated, NEVER take another persons prescribed medication. BTW, not to scare you but this is what can happen: A friend has a backache. You give him OxyContin pills that were prescribed to your mother. If discovered, your friend is guilty of possession and you may be guilty of trafficking—both felonies.

Tramadol is an opiate. It may very well show up in the meconium drug screen. CPS probably won't take the baby, but if the screen is positive, you will most likely have to have an interview.

What concerns me is that you so no concern as to how this opiate will affect your baby.

Not being able to sleep during the end of your pregnancy is normal. Why would you take any medication not prescribed by your doctor? Are you going to take drugs to stay awake when your baby keeps you up all day and night?
