    ARE BOTH lock nuts suppose the same on over head valves

    Your question is a bit unclear but all I have done are the same and they tighten against one another after setting the clearance.

    Hi,
    I agree that your question is unclear. I have seen different sized locknuts on adjacent valve rocker arms before. Means that one was replaced. Seen more on metric engines with the difference being 1 mm.
