House has septic system. Kitchen drain very slow. What is safe to use?

I don't believe in chemicals other than bleach for just one slow drain. Do you have a dishwasher, or garbage disposal on your kitchen drain line? Maye a washing machine?

I agree with Tal about not putting harsh chemicals in your septic/ A 1/2 gallon of bleach isn't going to harm the septic system. However there's another factor to consider. Septic systems do not route washer and kitchen drainage directly into the septic tank. Instead the discharge goes into a grease trap,(see image), first. If the grease trap wasn't there all the lint from the washer and the grease and garbage would clog the drainfield. Your grease trap will be located close to the house and kitchen area. Check and clean the grease trap. If that doesn't get it click on back and we'll look at the drain lines. Good luck, Tom

No bleach but vinegar, salt and baking soda is an old cure for a slow drain. If its just the kitchen sink try plunging it if it's a single sink or odding via the trap removal below the sink. Tom grease traps appear regional. I do not have one out past Rockford.
