Get him to a vet emergency clinic. It sounds like he ate something that's stuck in his throat or esophagus.

There's nothing anyone online can do. Your dog is not eating, and he's not drinking. It will only be a matter of days (if you're lucky) until death if this keeps up and isn't treated.

Your only option is a vet, if you want to save your dog. Harsh, but true.

You will not find answers online, there's nothing anyone online can do but guess, and in the meantime your dog is slowly dying.

Please get him to a vet immediately!

This could be a number of things...

The first thing is it could be allergies and he is just feelilng punky. The backwards sneeze (which sounds like a honk) is sometimes mistaken for choking and coughing.

The second thing... collapsing trachea. The trachea tube is weak and collapses. This can be an issue if the dog is experiencing allergies. When the trachea is inflammed, dogs will want to keep it calm and not move so they can breath. The coughing can be harsh and resemble a coughing/choking reaction.

The third... Something could actually be stuck in the throat.

The Fourth... Kennel cough or canine flu.

The fifth... Coughing and choking and uninterested in food/water an be signs of heart disease or pneumonia.

Either way.. you're dog needs to see the vet. Anytime a pet goes off food or water is worthy of a vet trip.
