    Wiring a light switch that controls a fan
    Trying to a wire a light switch that control a fan however every time I turn the switch on blow the breaker

    Is this a wall switch or a switch in the fan itself?

    Please provide more details of what you have and what you're doing. How many wires?
    Which wires did you put on the switch? Describe the wires by their number and color...

    A conventional On/OFF switch cannot control a fan properly. You must use a switch designed for use with a fan.
