Our 14 year old Jack Russell just started drinking excessive water.
Our 14 year old Jack Russell just started drinking excessivewater. He hasn't pooped or pee since yesterday– which is odd considering allthe water he is drinking. Will this pass?
    Thank you.

We can't possible answer this (diabetes, tumors, kidney failure, on and on). A 14 year old terrier is pretty elderly. I would take him to the vet and prepare to discuss if you want to a) go through tests and x-rays, and b) treat and/or operate. You need to do this TODAY because a dog who can't pee or poop needs IMMEDIATE attention. Thanks!

Each of us with dogs agonizes over all this, of course, and it's OK to agonize over expense. I spent far too much on my last dog and it didn't prolong his life. Whatever you decide, all that matters is that the dog doesn't suffer.

Your poor little soul needs to see a vet, but keep in mind he is very elderly now, expect any diagnosis.

Why are waiting for us to tell you why. We cannot diagnose.

Is he eating, or just drinking excessive amounts of water? Is he keeping the water down, or vomiting it back up?

You need to get him to a vet. It could be a blockage, it could be kidney failure, it could be any number of things, none of which we can diagnose online.

Please get him to a vet, and good luck.

My first guess would be either diabetes or kidney failure/liver disease
