So this happened and I'm frustrated now, hiding myself in shame scared to tell my family because:
1. They thought I'd do good because I'm smart.
2. My sister and her husband did this favor of taking me to the test place where it was so far from home.
Now I'm just like: why I'm here I'm so useless...

Just come right out and tell them... lie or delay it, and they are only going to be more upset when the truth comes out (and it always does)... then you will have detroyed their trust in you.

Be honest, be direct, be timely.

They will be assuming that you passed the test, unless they know otherwise.

It is important to tell them.

Many of these types of tests take more than one try to pass. You are one of many, many others, who also failed at their first try.

There are probably places, either at the university, or online, to give you help in getting through the test. The university in particular, and more particularly, student services, or guidance departments, can assist. Why not call the university, and ask them if there are any suggestions they can make as to where you can get help, tutoring, or more information on passing the test.

Depending upon where you went wrong, you may learn that only a certain area of the test failed you. Then you can go from there to improve that area. I don't know what was involved or what type of test it was. If it was just a general knowledge of basic subjects, there are courses you can take, through the university, to upgrade these areas.

If you can tell your parents that, yes, you failed the test, but- you've been in touch with the university and have information on what you need to do and/or learn in order to give you a better chance at passing the next time you try.

But, to keep your result from them, will only be harder and harder as the days go by. Best to be proactive and mature about it.

I am going to approach this a bit differently. I think you need to be honest with your parents, but I also think you need to be honest with yourself. Sometimes we don't do as well as we think we should on a test or at a job because it isn't what we really want to do.

Do you want to go to this university or are you applying to make your family (father) happy? If the decision was totally up to you and your family would be happy with any choice you made, where and what would you like to study?

I got 85%... I needed 90% to pass the test, it's upsetting isn't it?
And you are right, I'm calling the university tomorrow to find a solution for this.

It was a hard exam that has nothing to do with what I want to study.
And yes I want to go to the university, not to make my family happy.
