CA DOJ FBI criminal background checks after 17(b)(3) reduction expungement.
Hello. 30 years ago I pled guilty to a stupid thing I didwhen I was 22 and was convicted of 5 criminal counts. I did serve 30 days in county jail and then completed probation. After 10 years I then went through theprocess using California PC 17 (b) (3) to have all of the counts reduced to a misdemeanor and at the same time used California PC 1203.4 to have the misdemeanor expunged from my record.

A new position is going to require a background check and also fingerprinting that will be submitted to the FBI for a criminal background check. I have been through many background checks and have been fine with the events not showing up, though this is the first time I will be fingerprinted.

As I read a lot of posting I see differing information related to what willshow up with the FBI criminal background check. Many say of the California DOJ did the paperwork correctly it will not show up, while other information says that it will.

I am going to request a personal copy of my information from the Calif DOJ and also FBI, though also need to know if the information I receive will be what they will get when the request is put through.

Once again, I had a CA PC 17 (b) (3) reduction to a misdemeanor and the CA PC 1203.4 expunged at the same time.

Any information as to what will show up when the FBI fingerprints are requested is much appreciated. Also, is what I receive from a personal request is the same that they will get when run by local police. The job is not in law enforcement, they just act as the requester for where I would be working.

    Thanks,

Depends on what exactly they are running the backgrond check for... expunged is not erased. If you are going for a TS-SBI clearance for example... they are most certainly going to know.

If you are applying to work in McDonalds, they likely aren't going to know about it. The devil is in the details as the saying goes.
