    Broken toe
    Last night I caught my pinky toe on the leg of my couch. The pain in my toe went from constant pain, to tingling then hot and cold. Is it broken? I woke up this morning and the top of it and slightly into the toe nail is purple and there's slight swelling.

    You may very well have fractured it. The best thing to do is tape it (not too tight) to the toe next to it. This will give it some support. This is the best treatment for a broken toe.

    I agree, I broke a toe and that is all the ER doc did for me.

    The last time I broke a toe the doctor told me that is was going to hurt for a while and there wasn't anything they could do about it. They didn't even tape it for me. Ended up limping for about a week and then it was all good.The bones in the toes are so small that it is really hard to split and maintain mobility.
