    Is it worth checking out
A couple of days ago the toe next to the big toe started to hurt by the toe nail... it does not look infected or ingrown but it is sore to walk on... today I noticed that at the bottom of the big toe on the side it is black and blue... I do not remember hitting my foot on anything. Should I get these checked out

Regardless of being diabetic I would get it checked out. Black and blue is a sign of bruising but can also be dead tissue. In short, it could be nothing or the beginning of something serious. I would get it checked out sooner rather than later.
