    How much should a Wilkins 975XL back-flow preventer cost?
    A plumber just charged me $807 for the part only, not including labor. The cheapest one I see online is $599, although there are several versions and I don't know what he installed. Did I get ripped off?

    I can purchase the same part from Amazon for under $225. Looks like you just bought your plumber a Aruba vacation. Please don't judge us all by the actions of one. Good luck, Tom
