I hope I'm posting this in the right section... I'm very embarrassed and scared and I feel really dumb for not seeking help sooner. About a month ago I had sex and started my period the next day. I have sensitive skin down there and sometimes I get a rash when I start. This time I noticed 3 tiny bumps on the inner part of my labia. Of course I noticed it popping up so fast but I decided not to worry because these kind of things had been normal for me and I always get paranoid when there's nothing to worry about. Only this time not only are the bumps still there, they're worse. Not any bigger, there are just more of them. A LOT MORE! And they itch like crazy! I've been having some discharge as well. I really should have gone to the doctor by now but I'm scared they're going to tell me it's the worst of the worst. I thought maybe it was a yeast infection so about 4 days ago I took monistat 1 and the discharge has almost completely stopped and it stopped itching for a day or too but the bumps are still there and the itching is back. I don't think it's a yeast infection because of how many bumps there are but I don't know it it's herpes because it doesn't fit anything that I've read. They're just bumps that itch. No redness, no oozing, no heads, no pus, maybe just a tiny bit swollen but that's all. I have NO idea what this is. Please help.

I forgot to mention, I'm in the military stationed in Japan. It's very warm and humid here right now so I thought that would probably contribute. I just got a smallpox shot about 2 weeks ago too. Also my hormones have been really screwy since I got off the depo birth control shot in March.

Yes you really should go to the doctor. It would follow that it is a STI, especially the way it is presenting. Though it could also be heat rash, or a variety of other disorders. It is neigh on impossible to diagnose over the internet so the best advice I can offer is to swallow your fear and pride and make a doctor's appointment. Trust me that they've seen worse and probably on a regular basis. They'll treat you with professionalism and not embarrasses or judge you. At least not in a way you'll notice.

Good luck. You might also want to use this time to discover a close and convenient source of condoms. If you want to protect your lady nest from crotch rot than you have to be proactive. You can't always rely on the men to have condoms or any other sort of protection.
