    Samsung bd-e5500 3d bluray player

    First, check with another blue-ray remote to see if the player will respond to that one. If it does the solution is simple. Take the remote control apart and clean it. This is easy to do. A remote is just a circuit board, batteries, and a rubber key pad. What happens is that one circuit gets either closed from a spilled liquid or dirt. This makes the remote lock out all other commands, since it will only take one at the time on each device. Look for screws behind the batteries, under labels, and any other place they may hide them. If you have none then you will need a butter knife which you gently press in around the edges and twist to pop it apart. Peel off the rubber pad and lay out the different parts. Wash each part with dishwashing soap or shampoo and a soft toothbrush. Rinse first with water and then with cheap rubbing alcohol and let dry well in a warm spot. Re-assemble and it should work like new again. I just had to do mine and now it works perfectly.
