Hi, I am 21 years old in college and my boyfriend 24. Last Friday we went out with some friends, came back, both kind of tipsy, we had sex. We used protection by having him wear a condom. In between we decided he change into a new condom, he took it off and before he changed into a new one, mid way without a condom on, he stuck his penis inside of me half way and then realized and put on a new condom.

My periods have always been irregular since I first got them. I am not on birth control to regulate it. My doctor says I am fine on terms of being fertile but only problem is my periods aren't regular.

I am worried I might be pregnant and what are my chances from that one encounter? My boyfriend says I am fine because there was no and even if there was precum, he was wearing a condom previously that had spermicide inside of it so that chance is gone too is what he says. But I still worry because you never know. And another main concern is that the very next day afternoon, I went to the toilet and I wiped myself and blood was on the tissue (bright red spotting). I didn't get my period or no heavy blood flow after and next day after that, I had spotting occur again when I went to the toilet and this time it was light pink. Again on the third day on Monday, I had brownish discharge in my undies. But no real bleeding or cramps as if I were to have my period. Just spotting for 3 days. It's Tuesday now (4th day) and no period and no spotting. Usually my periods are heavier since their irregular. The spottings haven't even lead to a normal period.

What does all this indicate? What are the chances and what is most likely? Am I fine? Please let me know.

Even with a condom, there is a 3 to 18 percent chance of failure. So, even with a condom, pregnancy could happen.

And of course with no condom there is a much larger change of pregnnacy.

The spotting can be a sign of pregnancy, but also, other things.

There is no way to know. At this point... you will have to wait and see if your period comes as planned.

As was said, pregnancy will be possible even when contraceptives are used correctly... they just lessen the odds.

Did he ejaculate with the first condom? Is that why you changed to another? If so, that could up the possibility a bit.

Since the spotting happened so soon after having had sex, it is possibly from irritation to your cervix during the sex.Odds are greater that you aren't pregnant, but you'll have to wait to see if you get a period.

To lessen the chance from now on, never should your boyfriend enter you without a condom and you might want to consider using birth control as well.

On your irregular periods... are just off by a week or so here and there or do you skip some months?

Thank you so much for your answer. The reason we changed isn't because he ejaculated, we decided we liked another type better and changed. We are fairly new to this it hasn't even been a year since we both started doing it for the first time and I would say it had been a total of 15 times maybe. I didn't bleed the first time but it hurt, and this last time was a bit rough so could it be that it's that first time bleeding that just happened now? Cause I've had a friend who said she bled a month after.

And as for my period they're irregular by months. Doctor said it could herridetiry.
