Landlord looking to charge $60 on top of rent
Notice of pest control says that if we don't move all of our furniture and empty cabinets then Sundance Village is going to add $60 to our rent. I don't think this is legal... is it??

Sure they can... they can't do an effective pest control treatment with everything in place... and you would be the first to complain if they didn't.

Same with carpet cleaners... they aren't furniture movers... they charge extra if they have to move it or it doesn't get done everywhere.

Bugs don't avoid drawers or places behind furniture...in fact those are the places they preffer to hide.

Yep its legal. You have the option to move things yourself, or pay extra to have them move it.

An exterminator will charge the landlord for extra work, and he passes the cost to you. Its legal and necessary if you want the bugs gone free. Read your lease you signed, its probably spelled out there.
