    Does a shallow well pump with a pressure tank need a relief valve
    I am changing out my existing shadow well pressure tank. Do I have to install a pressure relief valve?

    Is it required to have one? Not that I know of, but you can check with your state or county government to find out. I'd put one in simply because it is easy and cheap. The odds of a pump running non-stop enough to build sufficient pressure to rupture a tank? Very, very slim, but it has happened.

Leaking pressure relief valve on h/w tank [ 4 Answers ]

The pressure relief valve keeps leaking. The h/w tank is about 9 months old. The problem started when the main line broke. The township had to turn my water off and when they fixed it and turned the water back on is when it started. Any help towards a solution is always appreciated. :)
