Will I pass the ETG test
Thursday night I consumed 8, 12 oz beers containing 4.8% alcohol over a 4 hour stretch, and quitting at 12:30 am, and 2 standard beers the following day (Friday) at dinner over a 2.5 hour stretch and quit around 9pm. I have an ETG test on Monday at 1:30pm. I drank about a gallon of water Saturday, and have a fast metabolism. What are my chances of passing it?

Funny how everyone thinks they have fast metabolism... seriously... almost everyone always tosses in "they have fast metabolism".
Drinking a LOT of water increases they chances you will fail. You might or might not pass.

Fast metabolism means the alcohol begins breaking down and entering the bloodstream before it's excreted. Tons of water doesn't do much good. And like smoothy said, nearly everyone who posts here, worried about an upcoming EtG test, claims to have "fast metabolism."
What will be lost if the test is failed? a job? freedom?

Odds are not that good. WOW, no one posting about ETG claims they have slow metabolism !

So you stopped drinking Friday night, and have a ETG test Monday afternoon.
You can do the math for how many hours since your last drink. The majority of experts agree that an ETG test can detect alcohol, even alcohol from mouth wash or hand sanitizer, or cough syrup etc, from 60-80 hours. If you're below that range, or in between, there's a good chance you'll fail.
Drinking a lot of water to try to flush your system is an automatic fail for dilution. They're on to that trick.
If you somehow pass, take it as a blessing and try to find a way to avoid having to worry about future testing. In other words, stop drinking!

The OP also stated he/she drank more water to flush their system, which would likely cause a fail for dilution.

The OP states they drank a gallon of water on Saturday, but tested Monday. Urine will only be dilute for about 4 hours after drinking a large amount of water.
I based my answer on the study I linked in the above post.
What study are you basing your answer on ?

Thank you. You put my mind at ease. I had a feeling the "80 hour" claim was a trademark for the more extreme cases. I'm pleased to get a reply from somebody with intelligence, better yet, research to back it up. I will post my results. Thanks again, AntC.

Reallly now... when you fail... are you going to blame them for giving you bad information? Probibly not... you like most people with substance abuse problems... look for answers you want to hear, rather than simply doing what you need to do.
Why don't you ask them what their credentials are to be making such claims? Or are you just listening to what you want to hear.
Anyone can Google up something and post it... it doesn't take any real research... or knowledge.
Because what anyone tells you, or what you want ot believe.....none of it means anything because the only thing that actually matters are the actual lab results.
But keep drinking...there is always the next test to fail if you get lucky this time.

Your mind would be better at ease if you PREPARED properly for the test you knew was coming. And be it your job or the court, they are the final arbiter of what they do with your result. I mean how logical or practical to even take a chance with your job or freedom? Wake up guy use your own intelligence and common sense to succeed, and don't rely on luck and tricks. Luck runs out, and cheaters get caught eventually, or worse, you screw up.
Do it the right way if peace of mind is what you want.
