Me & my boyfriend have been trying to have a baby the past couple of days now. But my period came on today. Is this normal. Could I still be pregnant ?

I'm guessing you're not pregnant, especially if you've been trying for only a few days. It took me several years to get pregnant. Sometimes a woman can get pregnant right away, but it often can take a year or longer. And the more stressed she gets with trying, the more her body resists, so relax and it will happen when it happens. Meanwhile, be sure to exercise, eat nutritious foods, and take prenatal vitamins.

If the bleeding you are having is your period, then no, you wouldn't be pregnant. As Wondergirl stated, while some couples find themselves pregnant in a short time, many others will take much longer and it can be perfectly normal.

In the meantime, since you are trying to become pregnant, make any lifestyle changes now (both you and your partner) that you know would be healthy and wise. Watch what you eat and drink, avoid smoking or being around smoking, get some regular exercise, start taking a prenatal vitamin or multivitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid in it, and try not to get too discouraged if it takes some time.

You may also want to speak to your doctor about your plans for conceiving. Being in good health prior to pregnancy can play an important role in having a healthy pregnancy and baby.

There are several ways that you can get a good idea of when you are most likely to ovulate, along with other helpful information, from this site as well as others. By doing a search on this site, you will find questions and answers regarding the same topic.

Good luck... hope you don't have to try too long!

You've been trying only for a few days, which, since you got your period, would mean you started trying likely when you weren't ovulating. So pregnancy is unlikely.

The average couple doesn't get pregnant until they've been trying for a year, sometimes 2. At that time, if you've been tracking ovulation, having sex when you're most fertile, and still haven't gotten pregnant, it would be time to see a doctor.

    But a few days, no.

Can I ask how old you are? Also, can I ask why you and your boyfriend are trying to get pregnant? Why not make him your husband first? If you're ready to have a baby together, you should be ready to get married.

If you are going to try, you need to see your doctor and start testing for when you ovulate ( online charts not always correct)

Then sex needs to be timed according to ovulation times.

It can take months, even over a year sometimes. It took Toni and I over 14 months of trying to have our last child.
