    SRS light
My 1996 honda accord SRS light is on. There are no codes showing up when checked. I had the fuse in and out and it is good. Are there any solutions.

I don't know if this will work for you, but you might check out this link:

I've also heard that a bad seat switch can cause the SRS light to be on.

    Good luck,

Check all under dash and under hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. SRS fuses are usually in the upper right corner of the under dash fuse box. Working on the SRS system can be very dangerous, even life-threatening. You may decide it's better to take it to the dealer.

Just to be sure...the scanner that you used to check for codes will also read SRS codes, right? Not all scanners will do that so if you're using one that doesn't, of course you won't be seeing any codes.

The plug you are looking for is called an "MES connector (or plug)". You can Google that for more help.

    Basically the procedure is this:
    1. Locate the MES connector under the steering wheel in the fuse box. Unplug it.
    2. Plug a paperclip into the MES plug & turn the ignition on
    3. SRS Light will come on and go out within 6 seconds. When it does remove the paperclip
    4. SRS Light will come back on, plug the paperclip back in
    5. SRS Light will go out again, unplug the paperclip
    6. The SRS light should blink 2 times and stay out, turn ignition off
    7. If the SRS light stays on after this procedure, your SRS module may be faulty and needs replacing.

Here's a reasonably informative video of the procedure.

    Good luck,

P.S. Note that the timing is important in the on/off cycles so you may have to do this a couple of times to get it right.
P.P.S. I agree with TxGreaseMonkey that "monkeying" with the SRS system can be dangerous. If you cause the airbag to go off while you're under there it will be a bad day.
