Having teeth pulled out for braces...
Hey! I'm seriously worried right now... I've been told that if I had teeth extracted for braces my face will be ruined after the gaps are closed... It made me insane! Is that true? And if it is true, is there any way I can prevent this situation from happening?
    Thanks

If the teeth are needed to be pulled, the gap closes, no, of course the face is not ruined.

My teeth are going back, does that mean the gap is going to close? And can I tell my dentist to keep the gaps?

Stop getting medical advice on the internet. Or from friends that aren't medical professionals.

Go see a dentist and listen to what they have to say, they know their job. That will be the best advice you can get for your specific situation..... far too many unknowns and variables for anyone to give anything specific without actually seeing you in person.

You do not want to keep the gaps. Teeth are pulled to make room for over-crowded teeth to go back into proper alignment. Your braces should pull your teeth to where they fit properly so you can chew correctly.

I had two teeth removed when I had braces. It did not destroy my face. It did help correct a very bad crowding issue I had. It 'fixed' my face because my teeth then fit together the way they should.

If you are worried, talk to your orthodontist or his assistant. Ask questions about what you are concerned about. They are there to relieve your fears as well as correct the alignment of your teeth.

I have an over-bite... My top teeth did not look that bad before braces, but I didn't feel comfortable with them. I'm so concerned about having my face sinked in and a smaller smile.

The lower portion of your face is determined by your jaw width. Your jaw width will not change. Your face will contain the same structure. Your smile will not change but will only be more attractive because your teeth are more even and straight.

Your over bite will be corrected by the braces and the braces will not cause a problem.
