    Likely close to the front grill.

    The ambient air temp sensor is located under the front of the vehicle towards the left side.

    Most probably, it could be in the grill below the front bumper.

I have a 2 year old BMW 520 auto. I am looking to have a tow bar fitted by a BMW dealer. They have told me I need a fan upgrade to cool the engine. Why is this when in the hand book it states that I can tow uo to 2.5 ton. Have they got confussed whit the eco version. Regards Gordon
