My father was married 28 yrs and recently divorced now for 3 he has been lonely and trying to find a women to talk to. Out of the blue he gets a message from a 34 yr old woman living in Ghana Africa. They have been talking non stop for about 2 months via phone calls, Skype, and chats. Hes madly in love and so she claims as well I have even chtted with her and told her flat out that I don't believe this is true and I will be damned if anyone hurts my dad or tries to scam him.. He doesn't even have that much money! Hes a hardworking man who doesn't deserve to be led on or heart broken. I need someone to help me find out about this woman and if she is real and if she is indeed scamming my daddy...

After buttering up a lonely guy, they ask for money. How did she get your dad's contact info? Google her name and country and chances are you get a whole list of alias's.

People don't "find" you out of the blue... there isn't a place on this earth where there are all women but no men to be found that they NEED to be looking for random people anywhere in the world.

My dad went through the same thing. She took all his money and it's in a untouchable Columbian account now. And to think my "humorous" toast at the wedding was "Don't spend all of our inheritance." Well she didn't. She just stole it.

Help your dad find someone else. Someone real, true, and near. Good luck!

The problem you face is the fact that your father wants to believe this so much that he will not listen to you or anyone else. I have been faced with this before, having to tell someone that their "love" was only a scammer....I had proof. I found pictures with different names. I found pictures that were supposedly taken just for him, yet they were on the internet. I told him pretty much the steps that they go through and she did...he didn't believe me because he didn't want to. He found out the hard way. The only thing you can really do is tell your father that this could be a scam and if they start asking for money, give none. Sadly though, there isn't much you can do and if she is scamming him, he will probably send money when she asks for it.

I visited a business in Ghana that does this professionally some years ago. They had about 30 or more workers, doing nothing but email, and texting, all day, and then other people come in at night and do a night shift.

They use story ines and prepared scripts.

If they find a sucker, they will use girls hired to play the role, and use them for video and telephone calls.

If they ask for money, that is the first catch. *although some will actually marry, to leave country,, and once they get green card, they are gone...

Is it a scam, almost always. When and if they start asking for money will be the clue in how much they ask for
