My dad is so obsessed with beauty and he thinks my nose is big! I tell him everyday how much I don't want to have a plastic surgery but he is always like, no your nose is too big

How old are you right now? I'm wondering because your body is probably stll changing, so any cosmetic surgery "improvements" now might look pretty stupid in a few years.

Yes, I saw the picture. At 17, your body is still changing. And a "nose job" now would be something you would have to live with the rest of your life--or would have to get it redone if it was done wrong the first time or if you ended up with breathing problems. I suggest waiting until 21 or 22 or even later, and it should be YOUR decision, not your dad's.

Ignore him if you can - try not to even argue. He can't make you have cosmetic surgery, and no surgeon will do it against your will. You are in England? Isn't 17 the age of majority there? You are free to make your own decisions, except what relate to living under your parents' roof. You are free to move out.

Nope, I'm not from England. And it's not the fact that he will force me into having the surgery, it's the fact that he keeps telling me how much my nose is big and it's so unattractive. I can wake up everyday with self-confidence and happy with the way I look, the moment I see him and hear him saying I should get a plastic surgery, I lose all my confidence. It's so... I can't even describe it...

I know, hard to ignore a harping parent, right or wrong at any age. Maybe it helps to know that parents aren't perfect, or right but they have good intentions, so maybe it helps to let him know how it makes you feel, and PLEASE stop.

To be honest, that may not work (didn't for my parents) so be prepared to deal with it as respectfully as possible. Wish I had a better suggestion, for both of us. :)

I have my dads ears - my sister has my moms nose, the next time he tells you how unattractive your nose is, ask him whose side he thinks you got it from, make sure your mom is in the room. If he says you got it from your moms side, he would basically be insulting his wife to her face as well. If he says you got it from his side, tell him he should get the nose job first, so you can see how it would look! ;)
