    Water Pressure Fluctuates
    Water tank keeps clicking/ turning on and water pressure keeps going in and out

    Sounds like your tank is waterlogged. Is it a bladder or non bladder tank?

    Are you saying the water turns off and on? One of two things.
    1- If this is a bladder tank the membrane is ruptured. The solution is to replace the tank. **OR**
    2- If this is a galvanized water tank simply drain it out and let it refill. Good luck, Tom

    UNLESS you are saying this happens when no water is being used. That's a big question. If it happens in that situation, then check out the check valve/footvalve.

    I don't think it could be the check valve. If it were you would have to attempt to prime the pump every time it shuts down. I truly believe the tank are the problem. Good luck, Tom

    Good point. However, the pressure would drop to 20 or 30 or whatever, the pump would cut on, and prime would never be lost. Prime would only be lost if the pressure went down to zero and the wellpipe emptied. I think it's probably the tank, but if it does it when water is not being used, then the tank is not the culprit.

    But if the check valve were faulty and the pumped up to the cut off point and shut down there would be NOTHING to hold the pressure back and the gage would drop back to zero. You don't really think it's the check valve do you? Cheers, Tom

    No. The gauge would drop to the cut in point and the pump would cut back on. Always cycling between, for instance, 30 and 50. However, you are right. I don't think it's the CV, but it is an easy enough check. Hate to see someone replace a tank that is not waterlogged.

    I get your point. Then let's check the check valve. Turn the power off to the pump if the gauge falls to zero then you have a bad check valve. I still say it's the tank. Have a good one, Tom
