Hello,
Last month, I missed taking a couple pills on time. I had what I thought was my period though it was very light (basically didn't have to use a tampon) and was off and on for about 5 days (my period usually only lasts 4 days and is heavy the first 2 days). I missed the first pill of this cycle but took it and the next's day pill the next day. My husband and I have had sex frequently throughout the last month and a half. Since a week and a half ago (my next period is due in 8 days) I have had extremely sore nipples (never had this before), cramping (feels like I'm about to get my period) fatigue, loss of appetite and now I am getting liquidy brown discharge the past 4 days. Normally, I have no Oma symptoms until 2 days before my period. I realize that it is too early to take a pregnancy test, but should I be concerned that I am pregnant?

It's possible, but as you said, too early to test just yet. Even though you haven't had the symptoms prior to a period before, it could be an off cycle and you are experiencing them this time before your period. See what happens when your period is due, and, in the meantime, continue to take your birth control pills. If it does turn out that you are pregnant, you would obviously stop taking them at that time.

Birth control is not 100% effective. If you don't use that birth control correctly, there's an increased risk of pregnancy. Some doctors prescribe birth control pills to infertile couples (my mom went through this) because missing a pill or more while on birth control, can up the chances of becoming pregnant. It didn't work for my parents, but that's another story.

In other words, missed pills makes it likely that you are pregnant. Missing pills will also screw up your menstrual cycle.

Wait until your period is late, waiting 2 weeks is most accurate. Test using first morning urine. If that test is negative, wait for you next period and if you miss it, test again or get a blood test done.

If you're not pregnant, find a birth control method that you can adhere to, otherwise you're really just trying to conceive.

Agreed. Even if you take the birth control exactly right. Many women still get pregnant. So pregnancy is always a option. IF you miss pills it increases the risk.
