I am currently on probation for my 2nd M.I.P. (minor in possession of alcohol) in the state of Michigan. I was originally sentenced to 3 months of probation, but in the third week of my probation back in January, I unfortunately failed a drop. I got a violation, and the judge added 3 months to my sentence. I'm supposed to be done on June 28th, but I have a job opportunity that is out of state that starts Memorial Day. Since my violation, I have been on top of my game and really turned my life around. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to end my probation early, besides asking? I was wondering if I could serve the rest of my probation by doing the jail time. Is that possible?

If you have 3 months probation, you would have to serve 3 months jail time, I am not sure what that would help you.

I doubt that you could do jail time in lieu of the probation. Probation has a specific purpose in the eyes of the court. I would recommend that you ask a legal professional how to proceed at this time. (Try talking to the local prosecutor) Perhaps an understanding system would be able to work out something for you. It does not hurt to ask. Do explain the circumstances completely and show your success record to the court.
